Cisco Live Event Collateral & Design Systems

A multi-channel event design system supporting Cisco DevNet’s presence at Cisco Live events worldwide.Created collateral across signage, social, email, YouTube, print, speaker campaigns, and live-event promotion.

Overview
I supported Cisco DevNet’s Cisco Live event presence by creating marketing collateral, campaign visuals, signage, speaker graphics, email headers, YouTube thumbnails, posters, blog graphics, and one-pagers. The work helped promote event sessions, increase visibility at the DevNet Zone, and maintain brand consistency across a large ecosystem of event touchpoints.
Challenge
Cisco Live required a large volume of assets across multiple formats, audiences, and event years, each with evolving brand guidelines. The challenge was to create a cohesive Cisco DevNet visual system that stayed aligned with Cisco Live branding while remaining flexible enough for different sessions, speakers, giveaways, livestreams, and promotional needs.
My Role
I designed event collateral across digital, social, print, and presentation formats while collaborating with event marketing teams, copywriters, software engineers, external designers, and cross-functional stakeholders. I also created reusable templates and design libraries to help maintain consistency and support faster asset production across the campaign ecosystem.
Design Approach
I used systems thinking to adapt Cisco Live brand guidelines into a flexible Cisco DevNet visual language. I focused on strong hierarchy, bold cropping, modular layouts, scalable templates, and consistent use of color, typography, and event imagery so each asset could stand alone while still feeling connected to the larger campaign.
Speed vs Security speaking session stage backgrounds and signage
The top digital background was used during a live speaking session hosted by Cisco DevNet, which featured key industry influencers (Gene Kim, Kelsey Hightower, Stephen Augustus, and Michael Chenetz) in the cybersecurity space. The two graphics below are promotional digital signage displayed throughout the Cisco Live event to promote the speaking session and increase event engagement.
Speaking sessions promotional digital signage
These digital signs were crafted for various large screens and displayed throughout the event and at the DevNet Zone at Cisco Live 2024 in Las Vegas. This is a small selection from many signs I created for this particular Cisco Live event. This selection promoted individual speaking sessions, partner-led sessions, and prize giveaways at the DevNet Zone.
Cisco Live Speaker Campaigns
The social ads shown here represent various Cisco Live Events. The ads at the top were created for the 2023 Las Vegas event. I used the 2023/2024 brand guidelines to highlight speaking sessions with prominent figures in the tech and cybersecurity industries and to promote them on social media. The bottom two social ads were designed using the newer 2024/2025 brand guidelines. All of these were part of a social media campaign to increase attendance and engagement with the speaking sessions and Cisco tools.
Delivered 34,961 organic impressions and 406 engagements for Cisco Live “Speed vs Security” session via high-performing social media campaigns.

Email newsletters
This is a small selection of email newsletter headers created for multiple Cisco Live events, promoting registration, attendance, and speaking sessions.
YouTube livestream thumbnail templates
I designed these YouTube thumbnail templates to support the Cisco DevNet DA and Software Engineer team's streaming efforts. These templates were used by the Cisco DevNet team to showcase recorded speaker sessions from Cisco Live as well as live and recorded streams about Cisco tools and technologies.
Blog graphics
As part of an integrated campaign, I developed a scalable design system for blog posts, aligning with the CMS restrictions, aligning with branding, including upbeat messaging. I collaborated with the copywriter to ensure the imagery matched the blog content.
Book giveaway and registration print posters
The give away poster and registration one-pager were print materials displayed and handed out at the DevNet Zone during Cisco Live in Las Vegas, 2023. It included a barcode that attendees could scan to sign up for the Speed vs. Security live stream or attend in person. To encourage in-person attendance, we distributed a Free copy of Gene Kim's The Unicorn Project to the first 50 participants to help bring more viewers to the seassion.
Achievements
These assets significantly enhanced engagement and visibility at Cisco Live, driving increased attendance and participation across various activities. High-performing social media campaigns generated nearly 35,000 organic impressions and 406 interactions for the “Speed vs. Security” session, while digital signage boosted DevNet's presence, leading to more attendees and engagement in workshops, speaking sessions, and labs. Social posts fostered community involvement and increased awareness on platforms like X, Instagram, and Facebook.
Email newsletter headers effectively communicated marketing messages, improving interest in the DevNet Zone. Thumbnail templates facilitated the rapid creation of YouTube streams, highlighting trends in software engineering, security, and observability, thereby boosting community engagement.
Additionally, blog graphics promoted Cisco Live events, encouraging registration for demos and sessions, while promotional print materials increased in-person attendance and supported online participation via livestream, offering educational content on Cisco cybersecurity technologies.

Sample Cisco Live Brand Guidelines
The Cisco Live brand guidelines change every year for the upcoming events that span from June to February of the following year.
